This medicine does not cause mild symptoms and it will not work if you are taking aciclovir.

Directions for Zovirax:

• Apply on the affected area once a day for 7 days. Do not use more than 1 dose within 24 hours.
• Do not refrigerate or freeze. Cold sores: Do not cover or rub in mucus. Use Zovirax 5 times a day on the first day for first time cold sores, 10 times a day for first time cold sores, and 10 times a day for first time genital herpes.

Warnings:

• For external use only- Apply at the first sign of a cold sore, it can be applied for up to 7 days after the cold sore has healed.
• For use on the genital area- Wash your hands thoroughly before and after application. Do not cover the sore with a band. Do not cover with bandages. If your cold sore has healed after 5 days, try using a new cold sore at the first sign of another infection. If the sore has not healed after a week, consult a doctor.
• If the cold sore has not healed after 7 days, consult a doctor.

For external use Always use Zovirax carefully to control the infection.

• - Use this medicine evenly over a 3-month period. Ask your doctor before use if the sore has not healed after 7 days, the cold sore has not healed, and the sore has not caused any pain. Avoid having any other medicines while on Zovirax, but before you perform any blood tests, check the dosage and the history of your health conditions. If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor. But if you keep getting them and you are not sure, contact your doctor.
• Zovirax may cause mild or moderate skin rash. If you get any skin rash or if you feel itchy, blisters or blistering, call your doctor immediately. This medicine is for use on the skin only and does not cure. Do not cover with a bandage. If your rash does not improve after 4-6 weeks use this medicine on the skin. Consult a doctor.
• For use on the skin, only in hands. Zovirax may cause skin rash, diarrhoea and dizziness.

Zovirax Cold Sore Cream is to be taken on the 10th minute of the pregnancy. The full course of treatment is usually taken until given, then the package label is released and the bottle is then shaken well.
